Our care

Saturday clinics for women, led by women

·

By Penrose Health

Some appointments are easier when you can choose who you see. That is why we run Saturday clinics led by female clinicians, for any patient who would prefer to be seen by a woman.

That includes cervical screening, a quick test that is one of the best ways to prevent cervical cancer, but which many people put off. Being able to book it on a Saturday, with a female clinician, removes a barrier that stops some people coming forward.

It is part of a wider effort to shape care around the communities we serve. We have Patient Liaison Officers who speak community languages, we are translating key information into more languages, and we make a note when someone needs a longer appointment or information in an easy-read format.

Good care starts with making it easier to walk through the door.
