Our care

Sometimes the help you need is not a prescription

·

By Penrose Health

Many of the things that affect our health are not medical at all. Money worries. Housing problems. Loneliness. Stress. Or simply wanting to get more active and not knowing where to start.

That is why our team can connect you to local support alongside your clinical care. Through our care coordinators and our Patient Support Hub, we can point you towards help with housing and debt, mental health and wellbeing, stopping smoking, weight and exercise, drug and alcohol support, and befriending for anyone feeling isolated.

If something in your life is weighing on you, it is worth telling us. Sometimes the most useful thing we can offer is not a prescription, but the right support at the right time.

Common questions

What is social prescribing? Connecting you to non-medical local support, such as help with housing, money, wellbeing or getting active, alongside your usual care.

How do I access it? Mention it to your practice or our care navigators, and we will point you in the right direction.
