Hippo Labs is named HealthTech Company of the Year

Some of the best ideas in healthcare start at the front line. Hippo Labs, the health technology company founded out of Penrose, has been named HealthTech Company of the Year at the 2025 UK Business Tech Awards.
The award recognises its work on automated patient recall: the technology that helps a practice find and invite the patients who are due a check, reliably and at scale. It grew directly out of an everyday challenge we know well, which is making sure that no one is quietly missed.
"We built it because we kept seeing the same problem up close: good people, too little time, and patients who could quietly slip through the gaps. Automating the recall meant no one had to be missed because a day got busy," says Sachin Gupta, Strategy Director at Penrose, who helped start Hippo Labs.
It is a reminder that good tools, built by people who understand the work, can make care better for thousands of patients without ever being seen.
