Dr Emma Humphries wins a Compassion Award for her bereavement care

Some care does not show up in a target or a chart. Dr Emma Humphries, one of the GPs in our Patient Support Hub, has been recognised at the 2026 Mariposa Awards with a Compassion Award for the care she gives to bereaved patients.
Supporting someone through grief is some of the most human work a GP does, and some of the least visible. It is about time, presence, and small kindnesses at the hardest moments of a person's life.
"Emma gives people something you cannot put on a rota: time, and real kindness, at the worst moments of their lives. We are lucky to have her," says Dr Sarah Hawxwell, GP and Partner.
We are proud of Emma, and of everyone across our teams who looks after patients with this kind of care, every day.
