Care designed around every community we serve

We care for people from many communities across Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, and we work hard to make sure care fits the people who need it.

That includes women’s clinics on Saturdays, led by female clinicians, for anyone who would prefer to be seen by a woman, including for cervical screening. We have Patient Liaison Officers who speak community languages, we are translating key information into more languages, and we reach out to patients who are homeless, seeking asylum, or new to the country. Our staff are trained in cultural awareness, and we make a note where someone needs a longer appointment or information in an easy-read format.

Good care starts with understanding the person in front of us. We will keep listening to our communities and adapting, so that everyone feels welcome and well looked after.
